Here are some great brands that sell cool products for good causes.

1. Serengete

Serengetee makes clothes with different fabrics from around the world, each fabric represents a different cause. Each cause comes from a different city in 25 different countries. They sell cool clothes and accessories that feature the fabrics. Serengetee was started in 2012 and has grown immensely since then. Jack and Ryan, the starters of Serengetee, started off by hand sewing and shipping pocket tees from their dorm room.

Serengetee’s Mission: Jack and Ryan want to use the fabrics to create a positive change in the world, centering around the fabric. 10% of the profits go to a range of causes, and help to improve lives in their communities.

 

2. beyondBeanie bb

 

beyondBeanie in 2013, Tito Alvarez, and his friend, Paty Lucero, came up with the idea for beyondBeanie when they traveled to La Paz, Bolivia. There, they noticed women artisans making, then selling, hand-made products. To support these women, Alvarez brought back some beanies to Europe. Lucero traveled to La Paz, again, to meet with the artisans and learned that most of them came from challenging backgrounds. A feature of beyondBeanie is that you can contact the artisan that made your product, and show your appreciation.

beyondBeanie’s Mission: Along with supporting the artisans that make the products beyondBeanie also works with The Amanecer Salomon Klien Center in Cochabama. By working with this organization beyondBeanie can provide meals, school supplies, and uniforms to 38 orphaned children in Bolivia.

 

3. Pura Vida

Pura Vida Bracelets was started by Griffin Thall and Paul Goodman, five years ago, after a trip to Costa Rica. While there, they met to bracelet peddlers, Jorge and Joaquin. Jorge and Joaquin were living in poverty, so Thall and Goodman asked them to make 400 bracelets for them to take home. They sold them in a local boutique in San Diego, and the bracelets sold out in days. Thall and Goodman decided to name the brand pura vida, because in spanish it means “pure life”, which is a Costa Rican philosophy that encourages appreciation of life’s simple treasures.

Pura Vida’s Mission: They help create full-time jobs to make the bracelets for Jorge, Joaquin, and 100+ other Costa Ricans. The bracelets are meant to spread the “pura vida” spirit. As well as spreading good vibes, they created a Charity Collection. This collection features over 190 charities, around the world, so far they have donated $666,721. Pura Vida Bracelets is also partnered with 1% for the Planet, meaning they donate 1% of their annual net revenue to environmental organizations.

 

4. Krochet Kidskk

Krochet Kids, is an organization and clothing brand started by Kohl Crecelius and his two high school friends, Travis and Stewart. They got the idea after Kohl learned crochet from his older brother, and he, Travis, and Stewart began creating their own unique headwear. They realized that they could help people in Uganda immensely. Now, there are over 150 people in Uganda and Peru with jobs because of Krochet Kids.

Krochet Kids Mission: Overall, Krochet Kids is out to “empower people to rise above poverty”. They focus on women living in these poverty regions, and encourage them to transform their families, community, and developing world. This helps to have healthier families, cut down on physical abuse, and increase the gender equality. They provide each woman with a job, education, and a mentor, to help them map out a sustainable career plan.

 

5. Zox

Zox, is a wristband company started by three brothers, Jason Kuiper, Brandon Kuiper, and Jordan Kuiper. They create comfortable and creative wristbands, that are all one of a kind. All the wristbands are made for a limited time, meaning, once a style sells out, it’s gone forever.

Zox’s Mission: To date, Zox has donated over $2,000,000 to charities all around the world. Most of their wristbands are collaborations with various artists. This helps to display their art in a different and creative way.
