“The scariest thing I’ve ever experienced?” Leon poked at the fire with a stick as a bunch of teen girls stared at him with gleaming eyes.

“Yeah!” Exclaimed the one sitting next to him, smelling like to much of her mother’s perfume which was giving him a headache. “You’re like, in college right? So you must been seen some shit, right?”

Leon tilted his head to glance at her. Too much makeup and perfume, you could tell she was trying to hard to be an adult; however nice body not to plump not to thin. Just right. Leon smirked at her. “Yeah. I’ve seen some shit. Lots of it.”

The girl pushed her blonde locks behind her ear and giggled a bit. “Tell us some stories,” She cleared her throat and gestured a hand to the rest of her little poshie. “We’d love to hear some. Right girls?” The other four girls giggled almost in unison, agreeing with her. Loyal subjects. She’s the ring leader. Perfect.

Leon tossed the stick into the fire and leaned forward. “Alright ladies, don’t regret it since you asked.” The girls shook their heads. “At college you hear a lot of gossip, so naturally there’s this scary rumor about a serial killer going around my campus right now. How he first befriends his prey and waits tilt their guard is down and when their guard is down….” He paused and could almost taste the fear oozing from the girls as they held their breaths. “HE ATTACKS!” Leon shouted grabbing the girl next to him who screamed causing a domino effect. Leon let her go, putting his hand over his mouth to muffle his laughter.

“That’s not funny! I could have had a heart attack!” The girl shouted clenching her hand over her chest.

Good. Leon wrapped his arm over her shoulder and pulled her close, leaning in real close he smiled at her. “I’m sorry, just wanted to give you girls a good scare ya know?”

The girl across from them chimed in suddenly. “But that’s just a rumor right?”

Everyone got quiet. Leon looked at her. Side ponytail and pink shorts; athlete?  A runner maybe. Leon glanced up at the clear black sky where the stars stained the darkness with light. Perfect. You’re all mine.

“That’s the thing, I thought it was a rumor too. Until I saw the guy in the act. I saw him walking around with this girls and the next day, I didn’t see the girls again but I saw him and he was talking to a new group. I saw him in the woods with the girls. They were running away from him screaming for help as he followed them. I saw him play his games and tricks and one by one the girls died. I saw it all.”

The girl next to Leon held his hand. “I’m so sorry you saw that. It must have been tragic.” All the other girls expressed their sympathy. Expect side ponytail who stayed quiet with a perplexed expression on her face.

Too late.

Leon hugged the girl next to him, thanking her for her support. And behind her back he was grinning from ear to ear.

“How?” Side ponytail questioned. “How could you possible see it all and still be alive? It doesn’t make any sense…” She trailed off

The girl in Leon arms turned to face her. “Maya stop questioning him! Can’t you see Leon’s hurting?!”

I win.

“Yeah, Maya. I’m hurting. Dying even.” Leon snickered “Dying to kill you all.” Leon snapped the neck of the girl in his arms and her body collapsed onto the ground in front of the other. “It’s just the perfect night too! Let’s have fun. Ladies.”

“Carol!” Screamed one girl before a knife was jabbed into her throat. All the girls screamed and scattered. Maya was the fastest. She was indeed a runner. Perfect. Cat and mouse. The game begins. Leon let out diabolical laughter as zipped up his leather jacket. He slicked his hair back and let out a satisfied sigh.

“You can run and hide! But trust me, I’m an amazing seeker, I’ll find you!”
