10 healthy tips for the average SVC student

 

1. Take the stairs instead of the elevator.

2. Walk up to the mansion once a week instead of taking the shuttle.

3. Skip the pizza and hit the soup and salad bar at the dining hall!

4. Instead of chips or sweets, swap out for healthier snacks such as carrots and hummus. You can find them at Jazzman’s in the mansion or you can head to one of the stores in Bennington.

5. Use the gym located in our Mountaineer Athletic Center.

6. Find healthy dorm room recipes to keep yourself from eating ramen and mac n’ cheese every day!**

7. Park in a spot the furthest from your destination to get in those extra steps during the day.

8. Hike along some of SVC’s beautiful trails to keep yourself active, all while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

9. Get enough sleep! Instead of staying up late watching Netflix again, go to bed early. You’ll thank yourself the next day!

10. Lastly, RELAX! College can be very stressful, and one of the best things that you can do to keep yourself healthy is to save time each day to sit down and rest your mind 🙂
