Did you know that SVC is only 25 minutes away from one of the largest contemporary art museums in the the world? MASS MoCa – Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art,  features several different forms of art such as music, dance, theater, film, and video. It has some of the most unique artwork you will ever see. If you’re looking for a fun adventure for the day, head to North Adams, MA to the museum! During the fall, winter, and spring seasons, they are open from 11am-5pm everyday except Tuesday. The cost of admission is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors/veterans, $12 for students with IDs, and $8 for kids aged 6-16.

 

Here are some interesting facts all about MASS MoCA:

  1. It opened on May 30th, 1999.
  2. Approximately 25% of MASS MoCA’s energy is produced on-site through solar panels on several of the roofs.
  3. The museum itself hosts several different businesses and programs such as the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts’ “MCLA at MASS MoCA” program, a lifestyle book publisher, a visual effects studio and other filmmakers, law and accounting firms, a brewery, a coffee shop, and two restaurants–one of which that scoops ice cream year-round.
  4. It sits on 16-acres in the small city of North Adams.
  5. The museum holds several events and festivals throughout the year. Don’t miss the chance to attend one!
