Local Artist Spotlight: Greg Winterhalter

WallWorks: Art at the Library

SVC Professor Emeritus Greg Winterhalter currently has a series of his artwork on display at the Bennington Public Library. The artwork hangs above and around the various shelves of books in one of the main rooms of the library. Here, you can walk around and look at each piece of art individually, or you can bask in the ambiance of being surrounded by this artwork while sitting in the library while you’re wandering through the shelves in search of something appealing. In his artist’s statement Greg explains, “Art is my way to connect with the thoughts and experiences in my life, for which I am very grateful.”

Bennington Library advertises that WallWorks provides community members with an opportunity to enjoy fine art and to learn more about the talented artists who live and work in the Bennington Community. All works on exhibit are available for purchase, and the sales go towards benefiting the library’s programs and services.

The art of Greg Winterhalter has been on display since the end of September and will run up until December. Bennington Library’s hours are Mondays 10am to 7:30pm, Tuesday through Thursdays 10am to 6pm, and Saturday 9am to noon. If you’re looking for something to do, stroll into the library and check out the WallWorks exhibit by SVC’s own Greg Winterhalter.
