Movies To Look Forward To in 2019

Movies+To+Look+Forward+To+in+2019

Personally, I thought 2018 was a particularly dry year in reference to movies that came out. There were a couple of good movies that seemed to drag everyone out to theaters and had social media platforms buzzing for weeks. Avengers and Black Panther (both Marvel movies) seemed to be the only “great” movies of the year. Producers took notice and 2019 is slated to be a much better year if the movies in line to be released are half as good as predictions. I know it might be a bit early, but here’s a list of films to be excited about and released next year:

Captain Marvel (March)

Not much has been said about the plot for the next Marvel movie to be released, but everyone with common sense says that it should give us clues as to what’s going to happen in the next Avengers movie. The movie stars Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Dumbo (March)

In all honesty, Dumbo wouldn’t crack my top 5 as favorite Disney movies. However, for it to be the first of 3 live-action films to be released next year, I’m pretty excited that they will have to set the bar pretty high. On top of that, who doesn’t like remakes of movies that remind them of their childhood?

Untitled Avengers movie (May)

I don’t have a clue what’s going to happen in this movie. I don’t want to give any spoilers as to what happened in the last movie, but it left us all on edge and I’m sure we’re all very anxious to see how the gang can be saved. The title of the movie hasn’t been released yet, but what is known is that this will be the last Avengers movie for Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America. There’s a possibility it could be the last movie for a lot of  the super heros, but we won’t know until the movie comes out.

Aladdin (May)

This Disney movie does crack my top 5! I loved Aladdin as a kid; I thought he was cool with all of his acrobatic skills. He had a pet monkey, a genie and his girlfriend was an actual princess. What more could you ask for as a petty thief living in Agrabah? I just hope the live-action lives up to the hype. As a bonus, Will Smith is starring as the genie!

Toy-Story 4 (June)

This movie is making me a little bit nervous because of the promotion surrounding it. Some of the actors and producers have said it has a sad ending. I’ve seen cover arts with just Woody tipping his hat (no Buzz lightyear), which would lead me to think he’s saying goodbye for some reason. All I know is if one of my favorites die, I’ll be the loudest cry baby in the theaters.

Spider-Man: Far From Home (July)

Tom Holland did an amazing job in the previous Avengers movie and the title of this upcoming movie gives away some of the plot. I just wonder if the setting will take place in time before or after the Avengers 4 movie.

The Lion King (July)

This is hands down the best Disney movie to ever be released. I don’t want to argue or hear any debate. If you didn’t tear up when Mufasa died, you’re not human. Thankfully, there aren’t supposed to be any plot changes. One of the best things about this live-action remake is the cast in this movie. Beyonce as Nala, Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino as Simba and James Earl Jones returning to do the legendary voice of Mufasa.

Honorable mentions for 2019:

It: Chapter Two

Joker

Frozen 2
