10 Best Shows We Watched as Kids

10+Best+Shows+We+Watched+as+Kids

As kids, we watched many iconic shows. They all had us laughing for days and taught us many life lessons. We learned a lot about family and friendships. Here are my picks for the 10 best shows – in no particular order – that we watched as kids:

1) Drake & Josh

With step-brothers Drake Bell and Josh Peck trying to figure out how to live together, and their younger sister Megan constantly plotting against them, this show couldn’t get any better. It’s funny and relatable. Bell and Peck made the show hilarious, and it was probably one of the better T.V. shows we watched. It’s truly a classic show from our childhood, and most of us still make jokes about it today.

2) Hannah Montana

Miley Stewart (Cyrus) AKA Hannah Montana lived the dream. She was a normal kid but had the coolest secret. Most of us probably wished to live her life. She was secretly a pop sensation, and who didn’t want to be famous as a kid? The show wasn’t only about being famous; Disney did really well with sneaking in life lessons and showing us what a loving family looks like.

3) Wizards of Waverly Place

Alex Russo (played by Selena Gomez), and her two brothers Justin (David Henrie) and Max (Jake T. Austin) are wizards trying to figure out how to use their magic without anyone finding out. Alex, the trouble-maker, keeps us laughing every time she messes around with her brother Justin, who is the rule-follower. Max had us laughing as well, every time he made a funny comment. Set in New York City, this show couldn’t have been better.

4) iCarly

iCarly was one of the best shows on Nickelodeon. Carly, Sam, and Freddy ran one of the hottest web shows on television. Every character in the show has their own funny thing about them. All of them are quirky, and constantly playing jokes on each other. The show served as great entertainment for us for many years.

5) Big Time Rush

Kendall, James, Logan, and Carlos were boys living the dream out in California as their boy band made it “big time.” They were four heartthrobs for girls, and four cool and funny guys for boys. This show taught us that we need to work hard for what we want, just like these boys did.

6) That’s So Raven

When Raven Baxter saw the future, it was the coolest thing to see as a kid. She was always trying to help her friends and family by changing the outcomes of the events she predicted. Her younger brother, Cory, provided a ton of comedy to the show with his money-scheming antics. This show was one of the best original Disney shows we watched as kids.

7) Lizzie McGuire

Lizzie McGuire was another Disney show that provided many laughs for us as kids. With the relatable life of this middle-schooler, we all enjoyed watching Lizzie and her friends navigate life as 13-year-olds. This show also introduced many songs that we still jam out to today.

8) SpongeBob SquarePants

SpongeBob SquarePants was and still is a genuinely funny cartoon. With the memes it provides us today, this show has won our laughter as children and as adults. We all also still know, and can sing word-for-word, iconic songs like “Krusty Krab Pizza,” “Sweet Victory,” “The Campfire Song,” “F.U.N. Song,” and many, many more.

9) Phineas and Ferb

Phineas and Ferb is responsible for the coolest inventions we wanted to build as a kid. From the “Backyard Beach” episode to the “Swinter” episode, it had our imaginations flowing with ideas. It was also responsible for the great rivalry between Dr. Doofenshmirtz and Perry the Platypus. Also, we can’t forget about Candace’s need to always bust her brothers. This cartoon helped open our imaginations to endless possibilities.

10) The Suite Life of Zack and Cody/The Suite Life on Deck

Last but not least, we have The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and The Suite Life on Deck. Both shows followed twin brothers Zack and Cody, and their crazy life of growing up in a hotel. In a spinoff of the original suite life, Zack and Cody find themselves living on the S.S. Tipton, a cruise ship owned by the hotel. Both shows had many guest stars and the opening songs were catchy. Disney really did do a good job with these shows and we have kept the laughs with us for many years.
