Editor in Chief Morgaine Segura is going to Cuba, get to know a little bit about her and her trip!
Year: Senior
Major: History & Politics / Liberal Arts (English)
Morgaine left for Cuba on Friday, September 25, and she will be returning on October 3. She is very excited to go and said her reasons for taking this trip are, her fascination with Cuba, it’s deep history, and her love for travel. She says that this is also her way of showing other Americans that it’s important for them to go as well. Stressing that Americans shouldn’t be afraid of the country because of it’s past. She also says that she is excited to experience a new culture and environment. Explaining that she wants to make this an experience to remember and ignoring any “Top 10 best things to do in Cuba!” types of articles or expectations. In other words she wants to experience her “own” Cuba. She will be taking the trip with the magazine, The Nation. She says that she may write a freelance article for them, if she is asked. However, the main focus of the trip is to see the country. She is one of two college students going on the trip, out of 30 people, according to an article written about her trip in the Rutland Herald.
