An on campus event held in the Greenburg Atrium on October 16th, 2015 involved both the faculty and the student body. The faculty rivaled against 20 students that were broken up into four groups.
In the first round of Trivia there were three categories which were literature, movies, and superheroes. The second round was “remember that lyric” where The First Amendment Acapella’s Group (a group of talented singers who attend Southern Vermont College) sang the first beginning versus to songs and then the remaining groups left had to buzz in and sing the rest. Entering round three it went to “draw that cartoon” where the two last groups had to have one person from there group draw the cartoon that was written on an index card and either group had the privilege to buzz in once they guessed what cartoon was being drawn.
After the first round one group of students were taken out of the game since they came in last behind four other groups. In the second round two other groups were taken out because neither group gained points. Now could you guess who was left? The faculty and one group of students who were known the whole night as “No Name”. That’s right the faculty made it to the last round!
The faculty that attended the event was President Evans, Michelle Deal, Daisy Levy, Stacey Hills, Sarah Knapp, and Greg Winterhalter. The group “No Name” was a group of five students which were Pablo Aguirre-Lagandre, Chris Bradt, Emily Freling, Bridget Cain, and Jackie Scanlon. The winning group was told that they would win a gift certificate to Madison’s. Therefore, the competition was on.
In the final round faculty versus “No Name” battled against one another with the category of figure out that cartoon. “No Name” was in the lead for a while up until the faculty caught up and they tied up four to four. In the beginning Greg Winterhalter was drawing, but at the end when the score was close Pablo Aguirre-Lagandre was drawing the cartoons. The tie breaker ended up being a cartoon drawing of SpongeBob SquarePants and Chris Bradt called it making “No Name” the winners!
