G.L.B. (Warning: Explicit Lyrics)

For all you girls who give us guys a hard time…

About the Artists:

Known as “Andwele,” Adrian Andwele (Psychology, Class of 2016) thinks of himself as an observant “life learner” with a passion to share the “unifying” power of music with the world.  He draws inspiration from Drake, his favorite contemporary artist, and from everything around him that “can provide an individual with food for thought.”  An advocate for the pursuit of dreams, he strives to inspire people to tackle their goals head-on and “embrace the challenge of becoming great at what we do.”  The song “G.L.B.” speaks to “the struggle between double standards of females and males,” an experience Andwele believes many can relate to.

Natalie Rose (Biology, Class of 2018) decided to “come out musically” when the opportunity arose for her to work with Andwele on “G.L.B.”  She sees him, and others who “challenge the music world, themselves and the people around them” as having an inspiring and “liberating” resilience in the way they “push every day and refuse to stop.”  She draws from that energy not only for music, but also as she pursues many other art forms, her favorite being those that “allow [her] to speak without using any words,” and hopes to grow evermore as an artist.

Music, Andwele says, “allows everyone to express how they feel and gives them a voice whether you are the one creating the song, or the one listening.  It broadens the mind and nourishes the soul…  I can’t picture a life without it.”
