Wreckage vs. Salisbury University

Wreckage vs. Salisbury University

Here we find the Mountaineers as part of the Hoopsville National Invitational Classic. After a day of traveling and at least four straight hours of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, it was time for a game against the Seagulls of Salisbury University. A lay-up by Salisbury’s Jordan Brooks with a few seconds left in the game was just enough for the Seagulls to hang on for the one-point win.

This may sound pretty crazy but we actually won (or at least tied) this game. At around the 4:00 mark I shoot the scoreboard and it’s the last time it matches the game play-by-play summary (at the 13:46 mark of the second half). The next bucket #23 Dexter Gordon makes a lay-up, but it’s scored as a three pointer.

Going into the 5:50 mark the score is 55-51 in favor of Southern Vermont and the whistle was blown on a foul on one end by Will Bromirski, then we go to a media timeout.I’m filming the coaches in the foreground during the media timeout, but in the background you can see the coach going to the scorers table. I cut the shot and walk the baseline, the pause in play stops and the score is now 54-52 and moments later becomes 54-53 as SU hits a free throw. A three-point basket was taken away from Bromirski and awarded to Gordon for a nice lay-up. In basketball, points don’t just disappear like that.

Next time, Wreckage takes on a formidable foe with #4 St. Thomas-Minnesota in the next day of the Hoopsville National invitational Classic.
