Jose Ferreras presents: Alistair Fitzroy, telekinetic extraordinaire…

About the Author:

A member of SVC’s Shires Press Series for publishing his first book, Jose Ferreras (Creative Writing, Class of 2017) started writing this six-part series of “character teasers” to give sneak peeks into the supernatural personalities of his novel, tentatively titled Decoded. Jose feels happiest when immersing himself in fantasy and supernatural writing. He hopes that this character teaser series will encourage readers to pick up a copy of his book at Northshire Bookstore when it is officially released in April, 2017.

Alistair Fitzroy

by Jose Ferreras

Alistair charged onto the field, ignoring Aden’s advice on thinking about their next few steps. Only one thing was on his mind–Brayleigh was in trouble. As he rushed out into the open, he found his target and swung his arm across the air, the faceless horseman thrown off its feet and across the ancient stadium. It hit the stone platform hard, crumbling into a grotesque heap. Alistair wouldn’t let that thing touch her.

He made his way over to the redheaded woman, who seemed annoyed that he had come to rescue her. Before Brayleigh could speak though, they were interrupted as the horseman, having regain its stance, hovered over to them at a startling speed and collided into the couple. They were separated from one another and Alistair hit the ground. He grunted out in pain as he fell onto his left arm but recovered hastily and jumped right back onto his feet. With his good hand, Alistair reached up to brush his blond hair out of his eyes and let out an annoyed huff.

The muscular blond scanned the area, his eyes settling upon the beast who hovered over Brayleigh’s limp body–it had knocked her out cold. Alistair charged for the beast, his hand resting on his sword. He pulled the weapon out from its sheathe and sent it straight for the monster using his telekinetic ability. The sword flew straight for the monster’s back and slammed right into it, impaling the beast.

As the beast turned around to face Alistair, it let out a powerful roar. Coming to a stop, Alistair held his ground and summoned the sword back to him just as the hypnotized human minions of the horsemen charged onto the field, swords raised. But just as the first of the minions made their way to the telekinetic, a large wave of fire kept them at bay as Aden and the others joined him on the field.
