Have you met Taylor Baker?
Taylor Baker (Business Administration – Sports, Recreation, and Tourism Management, Class of 2017) is from Hoosick Falls, New York. He graduated from Hoosick Falls Central School where he played defense on the men’s soccer team. After graduating, Baker is now attending Southern Vermont College (SVC), where he continues to play the sport. Baker has been playing soccer for twelve years. In those twelve years he has scored a total of four goals.
Throughout his high school career, Baker has received many awards, including the 2012 Bennington Banner High School Boys Soccer All-Star Defender, the Second Team Wasaren League pick, the Troy Record, and an All Area Second Team Defender. While at SVC, Baker holds third place on the record for All Time Starting Games and has held the captain position for the last two seasons.
After asking how Baker and his teammates get along, he replied with, “We get along very well. Soccer is a team sport, so we know that we have to get along and be close on and off the field.” Baker says his biggest accomplishment was playing every minute of every game in his four years here at SVC.
As a senior, Baker says, “I look back at my soccer career and I am grateful that I was able to continue playing in college. I have built strong relationships with my coaches and teammates. Throughout this I have made tons of wonderful memories that I will never forget.”
