About the Author: Cierra Mincher (Creative Writing, Class of 2017) writes all the time when inspiration takes hold, which could be found anywhere and everywhere. She writes short stories, poems, and creative fiction from observances of everyday life.  She is currently enrolled in SVC’s Shires Press Publishing Program to publish her first book through the Northshire Bookstore in May of 2017. She is hoping to continue on this path of writing and become a famous author someday.

Fall on Me

Cierra Mincher

Rain, Cloud.

Rain down on me.

Release your tears and let them fall on me.

Release your anger.

And depression.

Release them unto me. Let your tears fall on me.

Do not hold it all in.

Don’t let yourself grow heavy and dark.

Release your pain and anguish, let your tears fall on me.

I can take a drizzle that is blown sideways.

Sweeping the leaves of trees and grass.

Release the dam holding you back, let your soft tears fall on me.

I can take a storm.

The hard drops from your eyes breaking the ground open.

Release the floodgates, let your sobbing tears fall on me.

Let the wind blow, if it must.

Crack the sky with your whimpering.

Leave your sorrow behind.

Unburden yourself, and let the rain fall on me.
