Student Athlete Profile

Kieran Enright (Radiologic Sciences, Class of 2019) is from Perth, Australia where he attended Rossmoyne Senior High School. He has played soccer for 12 years, with nine of those being on the Canning City club team, where he received four Player of the Year awards and four Couch’s Player awards, and served as captain for three years. Currently, he plays center defense/center mid for Southern Vermont College (SVC) and was announced as one of the captains during his sophomore year here. He was awarded Rookie of the Year during the 2015 season and was placed on third-team during the 2016 season. So far, he has also scored two collegiate goals while playing for SVC.

When asked how he and his teammates get along, Enright replied, “our team is super close, and we get along really well. We are always together hanging out outside of soccer and the off season.”

Since the season ended, I asked Enright how the season turned out and he said, “the season went much better than last season because we had more wins and could have won even more games, but unfortunately tied a lot. It gives us a good way to build towards a great season next year.”

The team’s goals for next year are to get back into the playoffs and eventually win the conference. This year they improved their wins record and got the closest to playoffs that SVC has in years. Next year they are looking to improve recruiting so that they have a bigger and stronger team to get into the playoffs.
