Local Artist Spotlight: Sarah Harris
Sarah is a certified makeup artist, specializing in wedding and special occasion looks. She believes in building others up and feels cosmetics has given her a positive and therapeutic outlet in which to be able to accomplish this. Sarah states she, “loves being able to make other people feel beautiful.”
Sarah particularly enjoys doing special effects looks, especially gore and horror. As it gives her a way to further her creative expression through art. Sarah favors using products that are all natural and cruelty free, and her favorite brand to work with is Tarte Cosmetics.
Sarah is currently based out of Bennington, but travels to allow herself to be able to accommodate different varieties of clientele. She grew up in the nearby town of Pownal, and was able to complete her certification through Austin’s School of Spa Technology in Albany. She has, “always loved makeup and color and that’s what fueled her [my] passion”. Sarah has since been employed as a colorist at Sephora, where she was able to become well versed working with many different brands, as well as gaining experience working on a broad variety of clients. She has continued to broaden her experience working under other talented local makeup artists (Shaynelle Francis and Tiffany Martin), who have been able to mentor Sarah to perfect her craft.

Very good work by Sarah. I’m also passionate about becoming a certified makeup artist and for that I’m already doing makeup artist online course from 1training (here: https://www.1training.org/course/professional-makeup-artist-training-online) .. But I’m looking for hands-on training as well in person. Can you please let me know where can I get learning experience? Thanks in advance!

Hi! 🙂 Great article on Sarah Harris. I am one of the artist who works with her and I was wondering if you be able to correct the spelling for the two names at the end of the article? It should read Shaynelle Francis and Tiffany Martin. Thank you!
