With All-Star Weekend just passing, this could only mean one thing for the sneaker community–shoes, shoes, and more shoes. This is the time of year when sneaker companies gift us sneaker enthusiasts with shoes that we could only dream of. This is the moment when almost every shoe coming out has some exclusivity to them. These companies take their time to give us better quality shoes in dope colorways, and crisp new concepts.

We’ve had shoes such as the “Black Cement” Air Jordan 3, one of the most iconic sneakers ever made, remastered and given the “retro OG” vibe with the Nike Air logo on the back tab. This shoe has not been re-released since 2011, so once rumor spread about its release it instantly gathered attention throughout the community.

Lately, it seems that Jordan Brand has not done such a great job of selling their retro Jordan models. They’ve been providing us with higher numbers of pairs, yet killing the value of the shoes due to greater quantity and lesser quality. So, this was Jordan’s chance to redeem themselves, and they did just that. But, Jordan was not going to stop at the “Black Cement”, they ran with the Jordan 3 vibes. They brought out the “White Cement” colorway and gave it a clear outsole with a red line on the bottom of the left shoe, symbolizing the free throw line Michael Jordan jumped from in the 1988 Dunk Contest.

Jordan also threw out the “Gold Toe” Jordan 1 (similar to the “Complex Con” exclusive “Top 3” Jordan 1), with the new shoe receiving the same black, white and gold patent leather as its predecessor. However, Nike wasn’t going to let Jordan have all the shine, so they came out with an “Alternate Galaxy” Foamposite shoe called the “Big Bang”. It didn’t do as well as the first galaxy themed Foamposite, but still managed to sell out and double in price on the resale market.

Nike also released a “Patch Pack”, which consisted of 3 pairs or Air Force 1’s, available in white, black, off-white cream. Nike also added their new “All-Star” Foamposite Pros. Each silhouette has removable Nike Swooshes with the option to replace them with different colors. Last but not least, Nike also released new “All-Star” colorways for their signature athletes, such as Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Lebron James.
