Before You Die Give Hawaii a Try

“O Ke Aloha Ke Kuleana O Kâhi Malihini” – Love is the host in strange lands.

Hawaii is an isolated, volcanic group of islands located in the Central Pacific. It is a U.S. state that populates 1.42 million people. Hawaii’s capital is Honolulu and it’s statehood was granted on August 21st, 1959.

The best ways to get around Hawaii are rental cars, taxi cabs, Hawaiian Airlines, Go! Mokulele, TheBus, the Waikiki Trolley, the Maui Bus Public Transit System, the Kauai Bus, and the Hele-On Bus.

As reported by, Daily News Dig there are 11 things you should do when visiting Hawaii before you die.

Here I will list five of my personal favorites:

  1. Visit Honokohau Falls

Honokohau Falls is the tallest falls in the Maui location. It was filmed in the movie ‘Jurassic Park’ and is named after the Honokohau stream which is a long river that begins from the Puu Kukui summit. The best way to view this natural wonder is through helicopter ride. It is a two-tiered natural beauty standing tall and proud at a height of 341 meters.

  1. Climb the Haiku Stairs

The Haiku Stairs are nicknamed the ‘Stairway to Heaven’ and they consist of 3,992 steps. They were built during World War II (1942-1943) to provide access to build a new top secret Naval Radio Station strategically placed in the Haiku Valley. Before the stairs were built it took the first climbers Bill Adams and Louis Otto 21 days to toil the route and reach the summit.

  1. Take a Dip In the Queen’s Bath

The Queen’s Bath is a Princeville summertime attraction in Kauai, Hawaii. It’s a 10 minute hike past a waterfall that leads you down to a rocky landscape of lava rocks and another 5 minute trek over rock leads to the bath. It is the size of a large swimming pool with some fish.

  1. Surf

Hawaii is the capital of modern surfing. According to Surfertoday, the best places to surf are Banzai Pipeline, Sunset Beach, and and Haleiwa Beach Park. If you have never been surfing, it is best to go take a lesson or two before hand.

  1. Go Diving and Whale Watching

According to USA Today, Hawaii is home to several whale species. Similar to human tourists, whales like to flock towards the Hawaiian Islands, but unlike us they don’t pay to get there. Each species of whales come to Hawaii at different times of the year.

Now go give Hawaii a try before you die!
