This TV series is controversial in today’s media. This Netflix Original TV Series is a cartoon about young teenagers who are going through puberty, encountering sexual activities and growing into adults. Big Mouth is very sexual and vulgar; the words and actions shown are funny, but questionable to some viewers, not to mention the accessibility for viewers of all ages since the series is on Netflix and available to anyone… People of all ages are capable of accessing this cartoon series.

The series takes place at a  Bridgeton middle school in the suburbs of New York City. The show has a few main characters like Andrew, Nick, and Jessie, all of which have a puberty guide in common called the hormone monster. Well, there’s two of them: one is a guy named Maurice, and the other is a girl named Connie, but there are more in the monster world for puberty kids across the world. The hormone monsters have history together because they’ve been around for thousands of years and claimed to have dated a few times. So, as Andrew  is exploring his body and having feelings he’s never experienced before, his friends are along for the ride, going through all the same disturbances . His friends are Jessie and Nick. The characters experience things like seeing their best friend’s private parts, kissing one another, parties, drinking, bumping and grinding, and even a female getting her first period. In one episode Andrew dances with his crush Missy. In the mix of them dancing his private parts rubs on Missy’s F.U.P.A and he ejactulates in his pants. As he runs to the bathroom, he passes Nick and Jessie. They are having their first kiss against the lockers outside the bathroom, but act like they’re just talking when they see Andrew running towards them. This is one of the very many examples of the adventures of these young adults as they experience puberty.

In my opinion, Big Mouth is definitely not recommended for teenagers under the age of 16 . Others may not mind letting their children or family watch the show. I would say it depends on the level of maturity of the viewer. I loved this show; it kept me laughing and wondering about how other people experienced their puberty ride. The show has multiple characters in it which will keep you on your toes and intrigued while watching each and every episode. There are currently 2 seasons and I don’t know how many more there will be, but you can count me in on watching them when they’re released! I definitely give this series a 10 ! You should watch it if you’re open-minded and ready to laugh!
